By the end of term, it can feel like there’s nothing left in the tank. You’re still showing up, still caring, still keeping the wheels turning. But it’s a lot. So if something called The One Moment Project lands in front of you right now, your first thought might reasonably be, “not one more thing.” Fair enough. This isn’t a scheme or a checklist. It’s an invitation, and the door stays open for the next six months. You're welcome to join in whenever you’re ready and anything we create along the way using moments people send in - whether it’s short videos, audio reflections or simple prompts - will be yours to use freely for staff meetings, INSET, or just a quiet moment at home with no strings or expectations.
The idea is simple. As teachers, you already notice the moments that matter. A quick exchange in the corridor. A lesson that went better than expected or a highly productive meeting with colleagues lead to a breakthrough of some kind. We are looking for this project to give us a way to name those moments and share a few of them out loud. Not to impress anyone. Just to remind ourselves, and each other, that even the smallest parts of the job can carry real weight.
When schools make space for this kind of reflection, even if it’s just for a minute in a staff meeting, it can change the tone. It’s not going to solve burnout or make workload disappear. But it does help us notice what’s going well. The parts of the day that feel worthwhile can easily get lost in the rush. Saying them out loud, even briefly, helps them land. It reminds us why we do the job in the first place, and it makes it just a bit easier to face the next challenge. Often it’s the small, quiet moments that stay with us the longest.
So if now’s not the time, that’s completely fine. But if you do have one moment you’d be willing to share, the kind that stayed with you longer than you expected, we’d love to hear it. No polish needed. Just your voice, your story, and the understanding that someone else might need it more than you realise.
