Video shown as QR Codes in Blippit Subject Reports (2026 app ver. 3+)

January 1, 2026

Blippit Boards allows you to capture short videos alongside photos when recording curriculum evidence. These videos are included in Subject Reports using QR codes so they can be accessed quickly and securely.

How video works in Blippit Boards
  • each board can include up to three videos
  • each video can be up to one minute long
  • videos sit alongside your photos, tags and written context in the board

When you generate a Subject Report:

  • the video itself is not embedded in the document
  • instead, Blippit automatically inserts a QR code
  • scanning the QR code opens and plays the video on a mobile device

This keeps reports compact while still allowing rich evidence to be viewed.

Why QR codes are used in reports

QR codes make it easy for Subject Leaders and teachers to:

  • view video evidence quickly
  • share examples of good practice
  • support monitoring and professional dialogue
  • reduce file size and printing demands

They are designed to support professional use in school improvement, not public display or social media sharing.

Safeguarding and responsible sharing

QR codes will work if scanned from:

  • printed reports
  • shared PDF or Word files
  • screens or displays

Because of this, we strongly recommend:

  • controlling where reports are shared and stored
  • limiting circulation beyond those who need access
  • thinking carefully before displaying QR codes publicly
  • following your school’s safeguarding and data protection policies

Always ensure that pupils and staff in videos are suitably safeguarded and that videos are used in an appropriate professional context.
