Add a board description with voice-to-text (2026 app ver. 3+)

January 1, 2026

You don’t have to type your board descriptions if you don’t want to. On iPhone and iPad you can use voice-to-text to speak your description and let your device convert it into written text directly in Blippit Boards. This can be especially helpful when you’re short on time or working on the move.

How to use voice-to-text
  1. Tap into the board description (or title) box as shown below
  2. On your iPad or iPhone keyboard, tap the microphone icon 🎙️
  3. Start speaking clearly
  4. Tap the microphone again to stop dictation
  5. Check the text and edit anything that needs correcting

Your spoken words will appear instantly as text in the description or title field.

Helpful tips
  • speak naturally, but a little slower than normal conversation
  • say punctuation if helpful (e.g., “full stop”, “new line”)
  • check names and technical terms — these are easiest to mishear
  • you can switch between typing and speaking at any time

Good to know
  • voice-to-text is a built-in iPadOS/iOS feature
  • nothing additional needs to be installed
  • it works anywhere you can type in Blippit Boards
Dictate text using the mic button on your iPad keyboard.
