Add contributors to a board

Contributors can add and edit entries on a board you own. This is useful when a team of teachers is monitoring the same subject, theme or year group. Other examples of use are listed at the bottom of this article.

How to add contributors

  1. Open the board you want to share. Give it a title and basic required information.
  2. Tap the three dots (top right of the board).
  3. Select Contributors.
  4. Search for a colleague by name or email.
  5. Tap their name to add them. A tick confirms they've been selected.
  6. For the people selected, a contributor icon displays next to the board title. Tap to contribute.
    • The teacher who owns the board only sees the 3 dots menu and not the contributor icon.
  7. If unsure or for speed, a teacher can tap 'Shared With Me' in the app menu to see a list of boards they can contribute to.
  8. A board is locked to other contributors while it is being added to.

Notifications

Blippit doesn't notify contributors that they have been added at this time. They will need to be told.

Full contributor access

When this is switched on, contributors can edit everything on the board except the title.

The board owner can switch it off if they want contributors to add photos and video only. When switched off, contributors are unable to delete anything that they didn't add themselves.

Removing a contributor

Tap a contributor's name to deselect them. This removes their access to the board, but anything they've already added stays in place.

Examples of contributors and shared board use.

  • A picture of the day EYFS or KS1 teachers each capture moments from the same day to build a shared snapshot of provision across the phase.
  • Cross-class progress in a subject A subject leader and class teachers contribute evidence of pupil work in, say, science or art across different year groups, building a picture of progression from Y1 to Y6.
  • A moderation bank Teachers in the same year group add writing or maths examples to a shared board ahead of a moderation meeting, so everyone is working from the same evidence.
  • An improvement journey A subject leader and their SLT link add to the same board over a term to document how a curriculum area has developed - useful for senior leader discussions
  • Curriculum in action Staff collectively capture how a topic is being taught across classes (e.g. a history theme or PSHE unit), giving a Key Stage or multi-year group view of consistency and coverage.

Updating

Allow up to 60 seconds for a board to be updated after a change has been saved.
