What does Reflect give you?

When enabled, teachers can choose to see what AI makes of their reflection.  A short reply in the spirit of a thinking partner is generated - it acknowledges what the teacher has noticed, offers a perspective on why it might be significant, and may pose a gentle question to extend the thinking rather than prompt action.

This applies only to reflections, which are private. It does not apply to boards, which are shared with colleagues. When you are done with a reflection, tap That's Enough to reset Reflect altogether. You do not hae to use the AI option at all but your school must enable it for you to have the choice.

What is it?

The response gently reframes what the teacher has shared - not as a summary or evaluation, but as a slightly different way of seeing it.

Reflect is a short, warm, and consistent, ending the same way each time:

“Reflect is here when you need it.”

It does not advise, instruct, or judge.

It simply reflects the moment back, helping the teacher see it more clearly, and offering something to sit with.

How to enable the AI Assistant for Blippit Reflect (Admin only)

1. Log in to boards.blippit.app as an Admin.
2. Go to the Whole School Settings tab.
3. Scroll down to the Blippit AI Assistant section and tick all three checkboxes:
   • I am either a member of SLT or have SLT email consent to enable this on behalf of my school.
   • I have read the Blippit AI Transparency Statement.
   • Enable Blippit AI Assistant for Blippit Reflect.
4. Once all three boxes are ticked, the Enable button becomes active. Tap it to confirm.

Once activated, the Whole School Settings page shows a confirmation with the name of the person who enabled AI and the date it was activated. A single checkbox lets an SLT-authorised Admin disable AI instantly at any time.

How teachers use Reflect with AI

Reflections are private, never stored, and can only be seen by the teacher. Enabling AI does not give the school access to any teacher's reflections, even anonymously.

1. Tap the big + button and select Reflect (speech icon).
2. Read the intro screen - it explains what Reflect can and cannot do.
3. Tap Start Reflecting, then type or dictate your reflection.
4. Once you have written more than 20 words, the AI button activates. Tap it to see what AI makes of your reflection.
5. You can tap Copy at any point to copy your reflection or the AI response to your clipboard and share it however you choose.
6. Tap That's Enough to reset Reflect. Nothing is stored.

Good to know

• The AI response is optional every time - teachers choose whether to use it for each reflection.
• It is off by default at school level and will never appear unless an Admin switches it on.

Transparency

Blippit takes AI use seriously. Before enabling this feature, Admins are required to read the Blippit AI Transparency Statement, which explains how the AI works, what data is used, and how it is handled. This statement is accessible directly from the Whole School Settings screen during activation. Blippit's DPA was updated on 27 February 2026 to reflect processing when the AI option is enabled.
